Spain, Norway and Ireland have formally recognised a Palestinian state, in what they say is an effort to save the two state solution and end the war between Israel and Hamas.
They hope the joint move will inspire other European countries to follow suit, and renew efforts to find a political solution to the conflict by securing a ceasfire and a deal to release hostages.
