A volcanic eruption has begun on the Reykjanes peninsula in south-western Iceland sending plumes of lava 50 metres into the air. The eruptions occurred near Grindavik, the fishing town near the famous Blue Lagoon. The eruption was the fifth to occur on the peninsula since December.
