As citizens in the European Union head to the polls, far-right parties in the bloc have all converged around one key issue: migration. Nicholas Startin, Associate Professor in Politics and International Relations at the John Cabot University in Rome, tells FRANCE24’s Tom Burges Watson that the fact that the far-right parties are not used to transnational cooperation and their inherently nationalist stance may be a hindrance to forming a major coalition.
