In Kenya, thousands have joined a fresh wave of nationwide anti-government protests. Demonstrations began a month ago against proposed tax rises. President William Ruto has since scrapped the legislation and fired most of his cabinet, but the unrest has only intensified. Dozens of people have been killed in confrontations with security forces.
