The EU Commission has reelected Ursula von der Leyen as its president, voting in favour of the staunch supporter of Israel who, nine months into Tel Aviv’s devastating offensive in Palestine’s Gaza, has avoided blaming Israel for the staggeringly high death toll among Palestinians.
