BBC boss Tim Davie has told reporters the corporation "will never tolerate unacceptable behaviour" as he answered questions about allegations of violence and bullying on Strictly Come Dancing.
The director-general said there would always be "a degree of competitiveness" alongside the fun – but "there are limits".
Mr Davie spoke about the controversy while delivering the BBC’s annual report.
