US Vice President Kamala Harris has secured the Democratic presidential nomination in a party vote. According to her party, Harris received enough votes on the second day of the US Democratic Party’s electronic voting process, which began on Thursday, to be officially nominated as the party’s presidential candidate. As a result, Harris will face Republican nominee Donald Trump in the November election, the committee announced Friday. Harris was the only candidate on the ballot among nearly 4,000 delegates in the five-day electronic vote.
At her first campaign events, the Democrat sent a clear message to black voters: She wants their votes. In the 20-20 election, some polls showed a shift toward Republican nominee Donald Trump, especially among black men.
