Following attacks in Lebanon and last week’s suspected assassination of Hamas’ top political leader Ismael Haniyeh, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said the US is engaged in "intense diplomacy" and working "around the clock" to ease tensions in the region: "escalation is not in anyone’s interest," said Blinken.
