Hamas has appointed Yahya Sinwar as the successor to Ismail Haniyeh almost a week after the former group’s chief was assassinated in Tehran. Sinwar formerly led the group’s military wing and is known for his hardline stance. His selection is being seen as one of defiance to Israel and its allies. Malik Fuda has more.
