South Korean badminton star An Se-young, the women’s singles winner at the Paris Olympics, is expected to return home Wednesday afternoon as government officials look into her claims that the national team forced her to play through serious injuries ahead of the Games.
An’s claims, which she first expressed after defeating China’s He Bingjiao in the gold medal match on Monday, have dominated news headlines in South Korea, prompting the sports ministry to review how the national team managed An and other athletes.
