After Solingen terror attack: What Germany really needs to change | DW News

German opposition leader Friedrich Merz is urging Chancellor Olaf Scholz to crack down on unauthorized migration, after last week’s terror attack in Solingen, in which three people were killed.

Merz, who leads the centre-right CDU party, accused Scholz of losing control of the country after meeting with him on Tuesday. He said Scholz’s government was split and unable to agree the radical measures needed to stop unauthorized migration. The suspect in the Solingen attack is a 26-year-old Syrian who had been rejected for asylum.
