Senior Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga will represent his country in a bid for Africa Union’s top post. The veteran politician vows to work with the 55 member states Africa Union Commission to "serve the interest of the vast, voiceless majority of Africans," he says during an event in Nairobi to announce his candidacy. The role is reserved in 2024 for a representative from East Africa to replace Moussa Faki Mahamat, a veteran politician from Chad who has served as chair of the pan-continental body since 2017. FRANCE 24’s Bastien Renouil reports.
