The Venice Film Festival has just wrapped up, ending a week of glitz and glamor by crowning the best in world cinema. The Golden Lion for best film went to Pedro Almodóvar’s English-language debut ‘The Room Next Door’ starring Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton. Frenchman Vincent Lindon took best actor for his role in ‘The Quiet Son,’ and Nicole Kidman took best actress honors with her erotic thriller ‘Babygirl’. However, the Australian star had to leave the festival early after the death of her mother, and so she was not able to accept the prize in person.
