Former Venezuelan opposition presidential candidate Edmundo Gonzalez has fled into exile after being granted asylum in Spain. "This was brokered partly through the former prime minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero … it was his [Gonzalez] idea to seek asylum in Spain," FRANCE 24’s Sarah Morris said, citing the Spanish foreign minister José Manuel Albares Bueno and left-wing newspaper El País.
