Former cabinet minister Mel Stride has been eliminated from the Tory leadership contest, becoming the second MP to exit the race after Dame Priti Patel lost the initial ballot last week.
Former immigration minister Robert Jenrick won the second round with 33 votes, followed by Kemi Badenoch with 28 votes, and Tom Tugendhat and James Cleverly with 21 votes each. Mr Stride received 16 votes.
The remaining four candidates will give speeches at the annual Conservative Party conference at the end of September, after which Tory MPs will select two final contenders for party members to choose from.
