Hezbollah on Saturday said it is mourning Hassan Nasrallah, its chief of 32 years, who was killed in an Israeli strike on Beirut the day before. Under Nasrallah’s leadership, Hezbollah grew from a “small guerrilla fighters’ group to one of the largest militias in the world”, FRANCE 24’s Rawad Taha said. Nasrallah oversaw Lebanon’s "first war" with Israel in 1996 and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from southern Lebanon in 2000 as well as the 2006 war in which Hezbollah claimed victory, Taha said.
