Watch live from Beirut and Southern Lebanon, bordering Israel. The Israeli military has confirmed its troops have begun a "targeted ground operation" in southern Lebanon.
The Israel Defence Forces said it had begun "localised and targeted raids" against Hezbollah targets in the border area of southern Lebanon.
"These targets are located in villages close to the border and pose an immediate threat to Israeli communities in northern Israel," it added.
It added the operation will continue "according to the situational assessment and in parallel to combat in Gaza and in other arenas".
