Michigan will be a key battleground state in this year’s election. Donald Trump won the state with a margin of around 10,000 votes in 2016. It swung back to the Democrats in 2020 by a few hundred thousand votes.
Crucial to this year’s election will be the large Arab-American population in the state. Dearborn, just outside of Detroit, is the first Arab-American majority city in the US.
Sarah Smith has been talking to voters there who were all Democrat voters last time but now anger over the Biden administration’s handling of the Israel-Gaza conflict is changing how they will vote in November.
