In a national address, Vladimir Putin said Russia deployed an experimental weapon in retaliation for Ukraine’s recent strikes on Russian territory with US and British missiles.
A day earlier, Russia accused Ukraine of launching UK-supplied Storm Shadow missiles into Russia’s Kursk border region. British media reported that London had given the green light for the weapons’ use. The United States also recently gave the go-ahead for Kyiv to use its longer-range, ATACMS missiles for strikes on Russian territory.
Putin also warned the West that Moscow could strike the military installations of any country whose weapons are used against Russia.
