Laila Soueif has been on hunger strike for two months in protest at inaction by the British Government over her son, Alaa Abd-El Fattah, has been in prison in Egypt since 2019 for accusations of spreading fake news, which she describes as "a completely unfair sentence".
She says she’s "had enough" of "running around prisons", and emphases that British authorities have to help get her son out.
Ms Souife will meet Foreign Secretary David Lammy, who has given been giving "reassurances that this is a top priority", but she says she "expected something different from Mr Lammy" after the support he gave the case when he was in the shadow cabinet.
