Member of UK Parliament are holding a passionate debate in the House of Commons on a bill to legalise assisted dying in England and Wales.
Laws throughout the UK currently prevent people from asking for medical help to die and there are several requirements for a patient to be eligible under the proposals.
The potential new law has divided MPs and they have been given a free vote, meaning they can vote with their conscience. If the bill passes today, there are still many months of parliamentary activity before it becomes a law.
