The secretary general of NATO has told Sky News that peace talks between Ukraine and Russia can only start when Ukraine is "in a position of strength".
At a news conference in Brussels, Sky’s Adam Parsons asked Mark Rutte if NATO would bring Ukraine straight into the alliance if Russia could keep the territory it occupies in the short-term – a suggestion made by Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with Sky’s Stuart Ramsay.
Mr Rutte said Ukraine "doesn’t need more ideas on what a peace process would look like", adding that the focus should remain on ramping up military aid and improving the country’s missile defence capabilities.
