US Emergency Physician Dr. Mimi Syed, who is currently serving patients in Gaza, reports that Kamal Adwan Hospital, the last operational hospital in north Gaza, is under total Israeli siege.
According to the latest reports on the social media of Dr. Hussam Abu Safia, the hospital’s director, the battering of Kamal Adwan has left only 25 patients and 60 healthcare workers in the vicinity.
The Israeli army’s intent is to force the remaining civilians to the non-operational Indonesian Hospital, also in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza.
Syed also notes that many children and elderly individuals have begun and will continue to succumb to hypothermia due to the harsh winter conditions and inadequate shelter, which has been further exacerbated particularly in the north of Gaza by Israel’s intensive targeting of healthcare and residential infrastructure.
