Jimmy Carter: State funeral and day of mourning to be held for former US president | BBC News

There’s been an outpouring of tributes to Jimmy Carter, the former US president who has died at the age of 100.

US President Joe Biden described Carter as "a man of principle, faith and humility," while President-elect Donald Trump said Americans owe Carter a "debt of gratitude."

A national day of mourning and state funeral will be held on 9 January.
