Ambulance services are preparing for an increase in demand over New Year’s Eve – one of the busiest nights of the year.
The NHS has already faced unprecedented pressure this winter, with A&E departments described as being "full to bursting".
That’s due to the so-called ‘quad-demic’ leaving hospital beds 90% full in wards across the country.
