If US President-elect Donald Trump delivers on his election promises, Russia and Ukraine could reach a peace deal in 2025. Trump has promised to quickly end the war, which started in early 2022 with Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. But an agreement between the two sides could prove elusive.
Trump is expected to send his special envoy to Kyiv on a fact-finding mission this week. His envoy has already published peace plan that would require some major concessions from Ukraine.
