Drone footage reveals the widespread destruction of sacred sites in Jobar, a neighbourhood in Damascus’ Eastern Ghouta region, caused by years of air strikes by the Assad regime.
Once home to around 300,000 people, Jobar became one of the hardest-hit areas, with many forced to flee during the regime’s brutal campaign.
Following the Baath regime’s collapse in early December, thousands of displaced residents have begun returning to find their homes and sacred spaces in ruins.
