Seoul witnessed large-scale demonstrations on Saturday, January 4, as supporters and opponents of suspended President Yoon Suk Yeol held rallies in different parts of the capital.
Pro-Yoon demonstrators gathered near the presidential residence, waving flags and carrying banners demanding his reinstatement. Meanwhile, anti-Yoon protesters rallied in central Seoul, urging accountability over his failed Dec 3 martial law attempt.
The rallies follow investigators’ decision to suspend an arrest attempt against Yoon on Friday. The impeached president, suspended on Dec 14, now awaits a Constitutional Court verdict on his political future.
