Recent footage from Anadolu shows empty reservoirs and rapidly depleted 1-million-gallon water tanks in Pacific Palisades, one of LA’s hardest-hit areas. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) confirmed all three major tanks were emptied quickly during the wildfires.
Mayor Karen Bass is under fire for cutting $17.6M from the fire department’s budget last July, raising doubts about LA’s wildfire preparedness. Despite assurances from LADWP and Governor Gavin Newsom, locals and celebrities criticize the administration for ignoring warnings and inadequate fire management.
