As hundreds of #migrants queued outside a migration office in southern #Mexico on January 14, there was a sense of uncertainty and, for some, despair, with just days to go before Donald #Trump retakes office. Most were queuing to receive temporary permits to travel to the northern border after receiving a date for their asylum appointments in the #US. But those with appointments after Trump’s inauguration on January 20 are unsure if they will ever get a chance to state their case for asylum. Trump has pledged to carry out the largest deportation in American history when he returns to the White House.
