Pete Hegseth is a former Army major who volunteered to serve in Iraq & Afghanistan combat zones after 9/11 & as his military decorations can attest, he has bravely taken the fight to the enemy. He’s been on patrol for days, pulled a trigger, heard bullets whiz by, called in close air support, led medevacs, dodged IEDs, etc. That being said, in this day & age, our country needs a Secretary of Defense like Hegseth who’s not only brave in battle but who also exemplifies passionate vigor, fresh eyes, new ideas & youthful intellect. Hegseth’s academic credentials are quite impressive. He’s a Princeton University graduate, where in 2003, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Politics degree. His choice of study & successful completion of this program at one of the world’s most prestigious universities is a testament to his intellectual capabilities.
His senior thesis was titled “Modern Presidential Rhetoric & the Cold War Context,” advised by Patrick Deneen. In 2013, Pete Hegseth received a Master of Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. The rigor & demand of institutions like Princeton & Harvard speak volumes about Hegseth’s academic intelligence & his commitment to lifelong intellectual growth. Hegseth was a highly skilled television political commentator beginning in 2014 & he was the weekend co-host of America’s #1-rated cable morning television show from 2017 to 2024. Pete Hegseths duties & responsibilities at Fox required excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of the subject matter, the ability to think quickly on his feet, strong research skills & the capacity to analyze complex situations, all of which will serve him well as the US Secretary of Defense.
