A district court judge temporarily blocked Donald Trump’s executive order aimed at restricting birthright citizenship on Thursday, calling the attempt "blatantly unconstitutional" as per the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution. The judge’s decision came as a coalition of 22 states filed a lawsuit against Trump’s order, which would force federal agencies to not recognize birthright citizenship for children who don’t have at least one parent who is already a US citizen.
