Displaced Palestinians in southern Gaza moved their tents to Nweiri Hill near the Netzarim Corridor where Israeli forces remain stationed.
They hope to return to their homes in northern Gaza after the anticipated withdrawal of Israeli forces under the hostage-ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. However, after Hamas fulfilled their part of the second prisoner exchange by releasing four Israeli soldiers, Israel accused Hamas of violating the deal and threatened to block Palestinians from returning north.
Hamas condemned this move, adding that they “hold the occupation responsible for any delays in implementing the agreement and the repercussions this may have on subsequent phases.”
