Russia has been waging a war of aggression against Ukraine for almost three years. Now, possible negotiations between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russia’s Vladimir Putin are raising the prospects of a peace deal. But would it be one that’s fair to Ukraine? Trump says he wants to meet Putin as soon as possible to find an end to the war. Putin, for his part, says he’s ready to negotiate – How seriously to take that? Well, Russian troops are still advancing in eastern Ukraine – and the question of how long the Ukrainians can hold out is becoming increasingly urgent.
