Kenya’s National Commission on Human Rights has issued a stark warning over escalating police abuses in the country. Rights groups say at least 118 civilians were reported killed by Kenyan police in 2023 alone. And as our correspondent Edith Kimani now reports from Nairobi, ordinary citizens are being forced to bear the lasting scars of a security system that appears to have turned against those it is meant to protect.
