NPR’s taxpayer funding is under fire for its blatant bias and financial waste. Sen. John Kennedy exposes NPR’s partisanship, like hiding the Hunter Biden laptop story and CEO Katherine Maher’s anti-Trump comments, proving it doesn’t deserve public money. NPR claims only 1% of its budget is federal, but 41% comes indirectly through CPB-funded stations, creating a taxpayer-funded pipeline. Bills like the Defund NPR Act aim to cut this, highlighting NPR’s $426M net assets and reliance on left-wing donors like George Soros. With 87 Democrats and zero Republicans on staff in 2021, NPR is a partisan outlet taxpayers shouldn’t fund.

Government funding for media? Big red flag . When taxpayer dollars flow into the media, it’s no longer journalism….it’s propaganda. We need independent voices, not state-sponsored narratives.
No NPR and PBS do not have a right to our tax dollars. They both have proven to be political. We cannot undo that without defunding that. In the 1970s it was enjoyable and Liberal, now it is just too far Left (woke).
Defund the propaganda arm of the democrats. Our tax dollars should never go to a state run media outlet.
Agreed…keep fighting to get this to end. Let the people decide if they want to privately contribute to keep them on the air. I for one, will never give them a dime if given the choice. Restore my choice!
Zero funds to the publicly-funded democrat propaganda machine. ALSO. Terminate the have-to-carry rules in FCC regs that forces local public broadcast tv stations to be carried by cable tv distributors. Say goodbye to ABC, NBC, CBS, etc al. because I do not think they can survive broadcasting to households with over the air antennas, do you? I doubt it.
Senator Kennedy’s push to defund NPR makes sense. Taxpayers shouldn’t foot the bill for a media outlet that’s increasingly seen as skewed! With plenty of individual donations out there, tax payer funding feels outdated and unjustified. Time to cut the cord.
Do we have a chance to finally de fund NPR and PBS? Never saw one balanced and equal segment and I am old old.
