Greek police have fired tear gas at demonstrators throwing petrol bombs after a protest marking the anniversary of the country’s worst-ever train crash turned violent.
Hundreds of thousands of protesters have taken to the streets in cities across Greece as part of a general strike on Friday.
The crash in 2023 killed 57 people and has become a symbol of institutional failure in the country.
