South Sudan’s opposition says the arrest of Vice President Riek Machar invalidates the 2018 peace agreement, which brought an end to the country’s five year civil war. And as Grace Kuria Kanja now tells us, South Sudan has experienced economic crisis and political turmoil ever since it gained independence from Sudan in 2011.
