White House Press secretary Karoline Leavitt holds a briefing on impending tariffs expected to kick in on 2 April, on what they have called "Liberation Day". Ms Leavitt describes this as "one of the most important days in modern American history".
She says that "the days of America being ripped off are over" and that US workers and businesses "will be put first."
