Donald Trump adviser Elon Musk says he hopes Europe and the United States will move to what he’s calling "a zero-tariff situation", effectively creating a free-trade zone between Europe and North America. His comments came a day after the heavy trade tariffs unleashed by President Trump sent global stocks plummeting. China was quick to retaliate while others — including the European Union — are still pondering raising tariffs themselves.
