French President Macron expected to visit Egypt-Gaza border | DW News

In Egypt, French President Emmanuel Macron is wrapping up a three-day visit.

In Cairo, he met with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Jordan’s King Abdullah to discuss efforts to revive the ceasefire in Gaza that collapsed last month. In a joint statement, they said Gaza must be ruled by a strengthened Palestinian Authority, once its war with Israel is over. Macron said that militant group Hamas must no longer have any role in governing Gaza or continue to pose a threat to Israel. The three also held a joint phone call with US President Donald Trump.
