US to hold direct nuclear talks with Iran | BBC News

US President Donald Trump said his country will hold "direct talks" with Iran over a possible new nuclear deal on Saturday.

Trump said discussions would be at a "very high level" and that Iran would be in "great danger" if talks were not successful.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi acknowledged Trump’s statement, and said "indirect high-level talks" would take place in Oman.

Curbing Iran’s ability to build nuclear weapons has been a key foreign policy goal for the US and its allies for decades.
