Calls grow for fast-tracking Ukrainian EU membership | DW News

The so-called "coalition of the willing," led by France and Britain, is working on a European troop contingent that would contribute to Ukraine’s security against Russian attack. British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has said that such a guarantee is essential to deter Russian aggression.
With the U.S. ruling out Ukraine’s admission to NATO, there are growing calls to speed up Ukraine’s accession to the European Union – not only for Ukraine’s sake, but also for Europe’s. But not all EU members agree.
