Speaking exclusively to TRT World, UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen called for a unified international approach involving Israel, the US, Europe, Arab states, and Türkiye to support Syria’s stability, emphasising the need to respect Syria’s sovereignty and the 1974 disengagement agreement with Israel.
He warned that failure to pursue peace would not only harm Syrians but also endanger regional and global security.
