How ready is Europe to fully step up its support of Ukraine and its own defense, as questions hover over US commitment? When US President Donald Trump announced two months ago that he would pursue peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, Europe demanded a seat at the table and is still waiting.
On Conflict Zone DW’s Sarah Kelly talks to Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovile Sakaliene, who says that Europe was not doing its fair share on defense spending, and that US frustration with its European allies is justified.
As there is no breakthrough in the US-brokered ceasefire talks that started in March, President Trump has also been showing growing frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
