On May 3, the Al-Qassam Brigades released a video featuring comments from Maxim Herkin, a captive in Gaza who was injured in an Israeli strike launched after Tel Aviv unilaterally suspended the Gaza ceasefire in mid-March.
Referring to the captivity of himself and 58 other Israelis, Herkin urged his compatriots of conscience to oppose the government’s attempts to “normalise this situation” by taking to the streets of Israel in protest against Benjamin Netanyahu and his coalition’s captive release policy.
