Pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli demonstrators clashed in New York during a protest to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the Nakba, on May 15.
Nakba Day is the day of commemoration for the Nakba, also known as the Catastrophe, which refers to the destruction of Palestinian society and homeland in 1948, and the forced permanent displacement of a majority of the Palestinian people upon the formation of the state of Israel.
