Iranian state TV reported that 20 children are among 60 people killed in an Israeli attack that hit a housing complex in the capital, Tehran.
Former chief of the General Staff Lord Richard Dannatt told Sky News the attack had clearly been planned for a long time, as he said Israel’s prime minister has wanted to strike Iran "for quite some time".
