Israeli scholar says Netanyahu attacked Iran to delay his court prosecution

Israeli historian and political scientist Ilan Pappe made comments on June 18 regarding the “personal ambitions” behind Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to attack Iran on June 12.

According to Pappe, Netanyahu—embroiled in a five year long corruption trial in Israel, and with an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court’s war crimes tribunal over his head—is “using the excuse of Gaza and the war of Iran” to delay trial proceedings from continuing further by at least “two or three years”.
