Iranian ambassador claims nuclear enrichment for ‘dignity’ | DW News

Exclusive interview: Iran’s ambassador to Germany insists that Tehran’s nuclear program is peaceful – and a matter of national dignity. Speaking to DW’s Richard Walker, Majid Nili Ahmadabadi condemned the attacks by US and Israeli forces on its nuclear installations, saying they were breaches of international law and that Iran had the right to retaliate. And he refused on repeated questioning to explain the purpose of the stockpile of over 400kg of 60% highly enriched uranium that Iran has produced – close to weapons grade. The UN’s IAEA nuclear agency has expressed “serious concern” over this stockpile – saying that no other non-nuclear weapons state had produced anything like it.
